Lucy and Speedy J have joined forces
to create the Zeitgeber project, whose self titled album will see a June 10 release on Stroboscopic Artefacts, and can be previewed below. Preceding the album will be the separate Body Out Body In EP; a 12” release containing two tracks not on the album.
It’s the first time Stroboscopic Artefacts have have publicly unveiled the sounds of Zeitgeber, which combines the guttural sonics of Lucy’s Wordplay For Working Bees with mangled variations of Speedy J’s throbbing dub and DJ tool techno. Highlights of the album include “Before The Wake”, which sounds like a grumbled remake of Moondog’s “Moondog Monologue”, while the barely audible, but prominent low end pulse in “Now Imagine”, endlessly wrestles against a trippy ten minutes of far-out sound design.

Zeitgeber Coming Soon..
Zeitgeber is a project that sees Lucy and Speedy J exploring roots and limits. The duo have both indulged their
experimental sides from time to time. Perhaps most notably Speedy J with his mid-’90s run on Novamute, and Lucy on
his 2011 full-length for Stroboscopic Artefacts. But Zeitgeber is something more, with two artists pushing each other to
go further. SA018 is a single that gives only a slight hint as to what is to come in the shape of a complete LP. ‘Body
Out’ is floor-ready techno with a twist. The textures that lie beneath feel like they’re just as important (if not more),
slithering and twittering away in constant dialogue with the just-slightly-off-the-grid beat. ‘Body In’ is the inverse of the
A-side, a slow-moving chorus of indescribable ambience. As a precursor to the forthcoming album, it’s a perfect taster
of the uncompromising sounds yet to be heard. Out at all good stores on 20th May 2013

Jochem Paap and Bren…
Steadfast is proud to present a collaborative project made up of Speedy J and Brendon Moeller. Neither of these artists need introduction. Their contribution to electronic music and club culture is well documented.
These 4 tracks are the result of jam sessions in Speedy J’s Rotterdam studio in May 2012. Inspired by their love of Krautrock and Techno, these tracks possess a spaced out psychedelic and experimental vibe but also maintain grooves that will adequately keep a dancefloor throbbing. Music to immerse oneself in. Enjoy!

Venice Sherwood Fest…
Sherwood Radio was born in 1976 as an independent FM radio. In the last 35 years our history has been a continuous experimentation of new styles of communication, because we consider communication crucial in our political and social activity.
Our new website is another passage of this long history. A passage that is linked to what we have become in the last years: among other things, we started a multimedia communication platform called GlobalProject.info, and a project completely dedicated to immigration an citizenship subjects called Meltingpot.org.
Sherwood Radio, on the other hand, affirmed itself in the field of music and culture, as an “alternative”, as we always defined it, among common commercial radios. Besides being a radio, we are also an independent festival – Sherwood Festival – which is unique among this kind of events, at least at national level, a kermesse growing and growing every year in terms of participation ad cultural offer.
More than two decades after its debut, Sherwood festival gained such a strenght that thousands of people each year wait for it, and begin their summer enjoining it.
This Festival is a lot of things together: the expression of a social and political community that has never stopped dreaming of a different and more equal world, but also a public space, alive and open to anyone, in which music, theater, art, literature, meetings and debates are occasions to shorten the distances that often make difficult to live together in the same community: different points of view, ages, attitudes, opinions.
Last year Sherwood Festival did not close after the official conclusion in July, but continued during the whole year with live music events thanks to the collaboration with Centro Sociale Rivolta P.V.C. in Marghera (Venice), making it a constant cultural landmark in north-eastern Italy.
We are also Sherwood Open Live, a project open to any artistic expression, promoting the artistic realities of our region. We will continue to be a radio, changing into a webradio provided with video streaming, a powerful communication instrument we started to experiment in 2010 edition of the Festival and that, since then, constantly broadcasts our live events. So, the choice to move the investments from the FM radio to web-based global communication is not simply linked to a momentary trend.
The potentiality the web is offering and the fast development of new technologies, permeating our lives to the point of changing our habits, allows us to work on a project which has no limit, except our own.
Our new website is articulated in three main sections: “Live”, a noticeboard of musical and cultural events we are promoting; “Festival”, with all the information regarding the current edition; and “Webzine” : a real online magazine dedicated to independent productions, with reviews, articles and interviews on music, art, literature, comics….
Multimedia is the core of our project. It would be a mistake to read the dismissal of FM frequencies as an “abandon” of something in order to make the web project possible: we don’t abandon anything but the laziness that sometimes assails who boasts an history of almost 40 years! Experimentation of multimedia platform gives us a rebirth. Our spirit, on the other hand, is always the same that, a long time ago, gave someone the idea of switching on a transmitter and start talking in a microphone while life was exploding in the streets.
